This page lists some useful modelling web pages and references:

http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/ Probably the best forum for UK aircraft modellers (and modellers of UK aircraft!). British bias and flavour.

http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/ Interesting daily updates, often featuring impressive builds by real (i.e not “super”) modellers from around the world. However, note that the review section is rather confusing.

http://whatifmodelers.com/ Some superbly inventive modellers on this speculative modelling site.  Forums can be active and lively.

Unofficial Airfix Modellers Forum . Welcoming and interesting, if sometimes a little quiet.  Strong British Classic Kit bias!

Aircraft Carrier Alliance - Want to see some astonishing pictures of the Royal Navy’s latest Aircraft Carrier in build ?

http://modelstories.free.fr/ In French, but there is a link to an English version. Modelling from the Gallic side of the channel. Professionally presented monthly updates and interesting articles.

http://www.fanakit.fr/ Another superb French site. No English version this time, but it is fairly self explanatory and contains lots of superb reference photographs.

http://www.internetmodeler.com/ Monthly updates, good quality articles and reviews, if a bit staid.

http://www.hyperscale.com/ Good daily updates, kit reviews and articles, but the forums are utterly chaotic and impenetrable due to using some very old fashioned forum software. Site owner well respected and produces some superb video reports from shows, plus informative modelling technique tutorials. Strong US bias.

http://modelingmadness.com/ Very much a US oriented site, even though the site owner/editor has a definite soft spot for Brit aircraft. Remains the best source of well written model reviews and previews.

http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.org Another excellent site, this time biased entirely toward Airfix kits.

http://ipmsstockholm.org/ Has some invaluable colour cross-reference charts

http://www.cybermodeler.com/index.shtml Tendency toward large (1/48) scale. Some interesting reviews, but definite US bias.

http://www.scale-rotors.com/ Comprehensive Helicopter modelling site.

http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/contents.html An essential reference for British Cold War aircraft modellers.

http://www.fleetairarmarchive.net/ Essential reference for WW2 FAA aircraft.

http://www.scramble.nl/index.html Databases good for Order of Battle etc etc. of most world air arms.

http://www.fradu-hunters.co.uk/bstevens/index.html Comprehensive FRADU Hunters (& Canberras) site.

http://www.airliners.net/ Photos of everything you ever wanted.

http://www.naval-history.net/NAVAL1982FALKLANDS.htm A superb reference on the Falklands war, amongst others.

http://www.lindenhillimports.com/flankers.htm Want to model a Flanker? - check here first!

https://www.titleproloans.com/all-about-model-cars/  A comprehensive car modelling site, added on the recommendation of Sadie & Julie; thank you ladies!
